Todd Lally, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Kentucky Air National Guard and a pilot for UPS, has filed paperwork for an exploratory candidacy for U.S. Representative 3rd District of Kentucky. Lally, 38, is a combat veteran of both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a native of Louisville and grew up in the Tyler Park area. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and Atherton High School and is married to the former Heather Morrison of Louisville and they have two daughters, ages 8 & 12.
Lally is the recipient of two Air Medals. The first medal was for flying 50 missions into war torn Bosnia supplying the civilian population with food and medicine and the second medal was for saving a Seattle man’s life in the Atlantic

Todd Lally has been a frequent radio commentator during Thunder Over Louisville and has flown in the show numerous times. He was the Republican nominee for State Representative in 1998 for the 34th State House District. He is a former Executive Committee member of the Jefferson County Republican Party and the past Vice-President of the National Guard Association of Kentucky.
If Lally wins the Republican nomination in next May’s primary election, he will face Democrat incumbent John Yarmuth in November’s general election.
