The hits just keep on coming from our southside neighbors to the north; the fun-loving folks across the river in Jeffersonville. Wednesday morning, a resident of Elk Point Boulevard looked out and saw his trash can overturned, laying on its side. Garbage was strewn about his yard, and he was about to think some unkind thoughts about the neighborhood youth, when he observed a pair of legs—clothed and shod—sticking out from the can.
Elk Point Blvd. Resident Roberta Embry told WDRB-FOX-41 (see video): "My husband got up early this morning about five and he heard a lot of people drinking. When he got up to let the dog out, the trash was out of the trash can, and there was a man sleeping in the trash can." The Jeffersonville Police were called.
When police arrived, they surveyed the overturned trash can. Inside, they found the city attorney, Larry Wilder. The responding police officer then escorted Wilder across the street to his residence. Evidently, no criminal charges have been filed.
WDRB reports that Wilder is well known in southern Indiana and Louisville legal circles and has had high-profile clients over the years. This, in addition to being the Jeffersonville Indiana City attorney.
In a later interview with Fox 41's Stephan Johnson, Wilder said he couldn’t remember much about Tuesday night. "The limo came and picked me up, and we went to Jeff Ruby's for dinner," said Wilder, adding that he "Had some drinks at Jeff Ruby's. Quite frankly, I have little recollection of anything after that."
But, let’s not rush to judgment. In all fairness to our esteemed Hoosier colleague, we have yet to hear the rest of his side of the story. We bet it’s a good one.

Must...resist...urge..to make jokes...about lawyers and trash...
I've known this man for many years and he is a piece of poo.It has been a rare occasion that he even speaks the truth.I'm glad to see that some people do get the embarrassment on tv that they truly deserve. He didn't make excuses because he knows it is a mute point. It is what it is.What the hell else could he do.The facts were all right there for everyone to see. What excuse could he have possibly made?
What's this guy doing getting "trashed" on a school night?
That would be moot point, not mute.
Grammar Police is mistaken. Jane's point should have remained mute.
Love that both of us covered people passing out in public today!
Whats the big deal? Happens to me all the time.
Got something to say?
