In the case of Santa Fe’s art district, the best isn’t saved for last- it’s served as the first course. Every first Friday of every month, the streets of gallery lined Santa Fe are lined with those in the know. Each gallery is open extra late, and flows with complimentary wine and snacks to fuel those taking on the strenuous trek of galley hopping.
People from all walks of life make the visit to
Santa Fe’s art district come Friday: the young, old, artsy, cultured, and even colorblind can find
something to their liking. If it’s not pretty things hanging on walls or sitting atop pedestals which spin your wheels, the live music, colorful characters and Capoeira practicing gurus surely will.
And yet another perk? This stretch of
Santa Fe is conveniently located two short blocks from the Osage light rail stop. So grab the kiddies, the rose tinted glasses and perhaps the designated driver and stop this First Friday, February 06, 2009 at the Sante Fe Art district.
Things get started around 5pm and go until the wine runs out, so bring a pair of good hiking boots if you must- you’re in for a long night of art, art, art. If you get truly exhausted, stop in Chile Rojo, an excellent Mexican eatery which stays open extra late on Friday to accommodate the art seekers.
