New Alexandria city council installed

 

On July 1st, Alexandria mayor William D. Euille, vice mayor Kerry Donley, and city council members Frank H. Fannon IV, Alicia Hughes, Rob Krupicka, Redella S. “Del” Pepper, and Paul C. Smedberg, took the oath of office administered by clerk of the ircuit court Edward Semonian in a special ceremony at T. C. Williams High School.

On May 5, Alexandria voted, re-electing mayor Euille and  city council members Krupicka, Pepper, and Smedberg for the next three years. Three new council members join them: Donley (who served as council member and as Mayor from 1988 to 2003), Fannon, and Hughes.

The city council’s first legislative session is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, at 7 p.m. in council chambers, city hall, located at 301 King St.

"I am excited to welcome Vice Mayor Kerry Donley and Council members Frank Fannon and Alicia Hughes to the Alexandria city council. I look forward to building a strong relationship with each of the new members as we work together to strengthen Alexandria,” said Mayor Euille. “Along with returning council members Del Pepper, Rob Krupicka and Paul Smedberg, Alexandrians are assured of leadership, vision, and a bright future from the Alexandria city council."
