Villeneuve finished in third Montreal's Nationwide race

Boris Said claimed his first Nationwide win on Sunday`s NAPA Auto Parts 200 race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Said overcame Max Papis in a drag style race to the finish, as the .012-second margin of victory was the closest ever on a road course in the Nationwide Series, the fifth closest overall in series history and the closest since 1998 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Strong contenders – pole winner Marcos Ambrose (finished 33rd) and defending champion Carl Edwards (finished 20th) faced mechanical problems on their cars and were unable to compete for high places. Late cautions forced overtime and prolonged the race enough to empty Robby Gordon’s fuel tank. Gordon led the field to the green flag for a restart on Lap 76 but stopped before completing the circuit and finished 14th.

70.000 fans attending the race saw local favourite Jacques Villeneuve come in third. “It felt great because it was a fun race and we had a strong car, but it's not a win and what feels special is wins, ultimately”, said Villeneuve.

Series leader Brad Keselowski, who finished fourth, extended his series lead to 365 points over Carl Edwards.
