The mother of a boy who will turn three next month is accused of trying to drown her son in a hotel bathroom. The 22-year old woman was staying at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Glendale when she reportedly shouted that she couldn't take it anymore and handed her son, who was dripping wet from the bathtub, to a guest.
DA Will Review the Case for Possible Charges
The mother then ran into the road wearing just a bar to the corner of Port Washington Road and Silver Spring Drive. She jumped on a fire truck and tried to take a gun away from an officer at the scene. The mother is in a mental institution while the DA reviews the case.
Woman Had Mental Issues When She Took the Boy
The grandmother for the boy has indicated that her daughter has had mental issues, and that the family had been looking for her. The daughter took her son and disappeared on Memorial Day. The boy was treated at Children's Hospital and was released into protective custody. He is physically doing fine.
