Explosives were found around Riverside High today, a college preparatory school located at 1615 E. Locust Street in Milwaukee. According to TMJ4, one of the devices exploded, and “two students have been arrested on felony charges.”
Riverside Staff Noticed Suspicious Bottles Around the School Foaming
Riverside staff noticed that the bottles were foaming, and called the Police and Fire Departments. The school was “locked down,” meaning that all doors and windows were closed and students and staff were kept inside. A lockdown is typically done to protect the school from anyone gaining entry to the school until the cause of danger is identified. In this case, school was dismissed at the normal time of 2:40 p.m.
Milwaukee MPS Sent Out Twitter Message Saying School Will Resume Normal Schedule on Tuesday
A twitter message from MilwaukeeMPS said, “All okay at Riverside High. Suspicious liquid found at school is "non-hazardous". Reg. Dismissal. Classes as scheduled Tuesday.”
