Sensio brand slow cookers that were sold exclusively at Wisconsin-based Kohl's Department Stores have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Over 60 reports have surfaced that the panels of the slow cookers have smoked, melted, or sparked, catching fire. Fourteen of these incidents have caused minor damage to countertops, although no one has been injured.

Bella Kitchen Slow Cookers' Control Panel a Fire Hazard

About 25,000 of the black Bella Kitchen 5-quart programmable slow cookers from Sensio with model number WJ-5000DE and date codes 0907 or 0909 are part of this recall. The control panel is labeled "Bella Kitchen." The model number and date code are located on a label on the bottom of the cooker.

Slow Cookers Sold Exclusively at Kohl's Stores Nationwide.

The slow cookers were sold at Kohl's stores from July 2009 through December 2009. They retailed anywhere from $20 and $40. Anyone with one of these slow cookers should stop using it immediately and contact Sensio at (888) 296-9675 for a full refund.
