Milwaukee Police are looking for a man who shot Tyren Black during the lunch hour yesterday. They say a white Chevrolet Impala may be connected with the case. Black was killed near the area of West Fond du Lac and North Avenues, just off the corner of North 21st Street. Fond du Lac runs northwest from the 20th and North location.
Milwaukee Homicides Down Overall
According to TMJ4, The number of homicides was down the first part of the year, from 19 during the same period in 2009 to 17 for 2010. Police have attributed this to a more aggressive plan in fighting crime. That's what makes a daylight murder such as this one even more shocking.
Tyren Black Murdered in Broad Daylight, Vigil Held Tonight
Tonight, Black's family has a 7:00 p.m. vigil planned to honor his life. The vigil will be held near where the shooting took place. Police are urging anyone who might know details about this crime to contact them. An special line (414-935-7360) is also in place for those who wish to remain anonymous.
