Just when you think the topic of health care reform couldn't get any hotter, especially after South Florida's heated protests of local lawmaker, Ron Klein's district office on Wednesday, could yet another issue be an image of the Health Care Reform logo?
The Miami Herald has reported that about 100 people showed up for the monthly question meeting with U.S. Rep. Ron Klein's staffers.
"The incident is like others that reflect nerves frayed by the nationwide debate. Democrats decry what they describe as a mob rule orchestrated by special interests trying to protect the status quo; Republicans call it genuine grass-roots concern over a costly government takeover."
Constituents across the nation are confronting lawmakers in their hometowns during this recess from Congress. Even though, a late-July Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll found that support for Obama's health plan had dropped: 42 percent called it a bad idea, while 36 percent said it was a good idea, Americans protesting and opposing Health Care Reform are being labeled as "angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists" by the Democratic National Committee. And here is the latest buzz: the Health Care reform logo featured on Barack Obama's website is getting attention for its eerie likeness to dictator propaganda- style depictions. Is this just another contrived controversy against the current administration or is there any validity to the notion that this is a frightening sign of things to come?

The socialist symbols have always been the same. LOL and "Evil Empires" all used the Eagle; Rome, Nazi Germany, USA. We know we elected an anti-colonialist social leader to a leadership position did we expect anything different? If you did you should not have voted for "this change". I liked the article obviously and I appreciate that you put them side by side. I have been hearing about this on the radio and didn't actually see all the obvious cross connections between the three posters until now. I tended to think it was over reaction. Obviously not. I love the socialist crowd in the picture also. That is a common motif in Soviet posters to make you feel like the populace is in support of the idea on the poster.

Free Clinics and no one denied health care- ever! Hospitals can not turn away sick or injured people. The biggest concern is the attack on decent. Indeed, all three images contain... eagles. The eagle is a national symbol of both (contemporary) Germany and the U.S. Compare any of these images to the eagle on the back of the US $1 bill and there will be similarities, which is to say, symbolic eagles. It is so offensive when the Republican leadership tries to insult the intelligence of average Americans with this kind of nonsense.
This whole logo thing is more right wing crazy talk. The Obama healthcare logo is a combination of the age-old medical profession logo formed with two intertwined snakes around a staff and wings and the Obama campaign logo that we are all familiar with. The logo has nothing to do with an eagle. The wings are part of the ancient 'cadaceus' symbol which has been associated with the medical profession for centuries. Comparing it to a Nazi eagle is complete nonsense. And even if it were an eagle - well, the eagle is, after all, part of the Great Seal of the United States which was adopted in 1782.

You can only keep your current healthcare plan if you stay at your current job forever and never get married and never have children and your employer doesn't drop you because paying the additional 6% in pay role taxes is cheaper than paying the higher government mandated premiums.
If you stay on an employer's plan you will taxed on it's value.
The private plans available for purchase in the exchange will be sold by private insurers, but they will only be able to sell you one plan that the government approves. This plan will cost you full price -$12,000 to $15,000 a year for a family of four. Extra coverage is NOT allowed.
You can go on the public plan only if your household earns less than $88K a year.
If you are 55 or older you MUST visit with a doctor every 5 years to plan your death.

More than 68% of Americans rate thier current healtcare good or excellent. Why would you want a government organization to take it over and run it? How many people want to wait in line like at the post office, the tag office or the health clinic. Forget about what party you belong to and common sense will guide your thought process.

I have good health care and a great doctor and I currently wait WEEKS to get an appointment and 30-40 min on average in the waiting room to see him. The Post office line moves much faster than that!!! People please read the bills and facts with your own eyes, don't listen to the talking heads that twist the facts (both ways) to suite them. I am happy, but trust me, most people are really not. I am game to have a better system.

At least the debate about Obama's Nazi logo raises serious concerns of where he is taking our country. Taking over health care is just one more step to becoming another Cuba. Obama already seized majority control over the banks and auto industry. What's next?: Obama, just like Germany in the 1930's, will try to take away freedom of speech in his upcoming Fairness Act. Getting rid of the opposition is what every dictator must do to conquer. Obama will be going after our guns. The Obamacare health plan will ration care to the elderly and infirm and give it to millions of illegal immigrants. I predict the emergence of a Death Czar and a civilian army soon.

Regarding the person commenting from Spain (who is under our defense umbrella by the way) comparing life spans-
Here are a couple of things to consider-
1. We factor in deaths at child birth here.
2. We have more immigration from the 3rd world than any other country so perhaps this affects life spans also as these people came from countries with poor healthcare. Just think in Spain if you had to build your own nuclear arsenal where would these dollars come from? Do you think the funds might be re-routed from entitlement programs? It is not fair to compare any of the nations in Europe with us (although many seem to be struggling with entitlements) as we have to provide for their defense while they conduct their social experiments
