JibJab's latest video satirizing President Obama (watch it here)

President Obama? Is he really faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap...? Well, you get the picture.

Friday night debuted a brand new animated feature entitled "He's Barack Obama", (He's Come to Save the Day) to the tune of the American Civil War song, “When Johnny Comes Marching Home”. The video's creator is a well-known E-card company, JibJab, which has gained much recognition for previous satires and high-tech animated comedy.

With news of Florida's unemployment rate hitting double digits at 10.2 percent and Miami-Dade reporting an unemployment rate "so steep that a local economist said it could be a statistical fluke", I thought why not try to keep things on the lighter side here at Miami City Buzz Examiner.

Things are tough all over, but thankfully, we Americans still maintain a good sense of humor. Last Friday evening at the 65th Radio & Television Correspondents Dinner, the President was entertained by --of all things-- an animated spoof of himself.

If ever America needed a superhero, arguably that moment would be now. And that is the exact sentiment JibJab's founding brothers, Evan and Gregg Spiridellis, has echoed in the creation of their latest internet video.

"Rather then try to predict what would be funny about Barack Obama in 3 months, we thought it would be funny to satire the unrealistic expectations surrounding his presidency and portray him as a superhero solving impossibly difficult problems with a wiggle of his super ears."

The culminating moment for the creators of "He's Barack Obama" was when they got to premiere their latest work in front of the President himself. The Spiridellis considered the opportunity a great honor.

"Regardless of your politics, there is no higher honor we can think of as comedians than having the opportunity to be court jesters to the leader of the free world." The satirists also were fortunate enough to have entertained President George W. Bush with “What We Call the News” back in 2007.
