Fast cash for gold--South Florida gold parties help in economic recession

Fast cash for gold
Get fast cash for gold at gold parties.

Never mind about the bucket of gold at the end of the rainbow. It’s the pile of gold junk in your jewelry box that’s the treasure these days. When I first heard about "gold parties", I skeptically listened as family member, Anne, told me she had been invited to one. At a party where all the guests bring old jewelry to trade in for cash, I felt rather certain that no one could make any substantial amount of money from a few pieces of otherwise useless gold jewelry.

Turns out Anne, too, had doubts, as she expected the few bracelets and broken chains she brought to the gold party would maybe get her $50. I soon learned that Anne not only left the party several hundred dollars richer but with a whole new outlook on gold parties-- which vicariously transferred to yours truly.

The Miami Herald recently ran an article highlighting how suburbanites are flocking to home parties to sell unwanted gold, which subsequently spawned a wave of phone calls to the local company, Fast Cash Gold Parties.

Miami City Buzz Examiner had the opportunity to speak with Stacey Mikel - president of Fast Cash Gold Parties. This is one hot new business-- originating in South Florida-- that has seen great popularity and growth since its inception less than two years ago. If necessity is the mother of invention than local business owner, Mikel has found the perfect niche. Florida residents from Orlando to Miami have had fun doing what they've always done-- socializing at parties, but now when the night's over, they come away with extra money to boot. Mikel figures they average about 10-20 gold parties a month in Miami alone.

On the whole, you can bet that with people everywhere strapped for cash, this is an idea whose time has come. In the short time that Stacey Mikel has been running her gold party business, her company has expanded to 10 other states. Gold parties have been held for all types of occasions: people looking for extra money or to help in raising funds for churches, schools, and charities. Mikel believes the popularity of her business stems from the one-on-one, friendly experience of trading in gold. People may not feel all that comfortable visiting a pawn shop. Additionally, if you’ve ever considered selling your old jewelry, you’ve probably caught some of the “send all your old gold in an envelope to us by mail and we will give you cash” gimmicks, which could seem a tad more riskier to some.

Fast cash for gold at gold parties

The concept behind Fast Cash Gold Parties is exactly as it sounds. A person contacts Fast Cash Gold Parties to inquire about hosting a party. The organization then assists in coordinating the details. They provide post-card invitations or email invites to distribute to potential guests. On the prospective night of the party, Fast Cash Gold Parties sends a gold technician who tests the gold and a party coordinator to a home, office, or whatever party location one chooses. A gold technician weighs the gold to determine the penny weight and then gives you an offer. You can either accept or refuse the offer, but Mikel assured me that no one refuses! The president of Fast Cash Gold Parties also mentioned that certain items like watches or pieces of an antique nature are best brought to an antique dealer since scrap gold is considered a different value than jewelry that's unique or contains special craftsmanship.

For the type of items people bring to these parties, pretty much the guideline is that if it costs you more to repair a piece of gold jewelry than what you could get paid for trading it... bring it along. So, that one lone earring that lost its partner, broken gold chains, old company pins, and class rings all have good potential. And it's not just gold, either. Any precious metal like silver or platinum could also earn you some fast cash. Plus, hosting a party offers the additional incentives of a 10% profit on all earnings at the event.

Whether you’re looking for some extra cash or want to host a different type of party with friends and acquaintances-- it just may be worth your while to consider this latest trend in gold parties.

So, go for the gold, go party, and get rid of those kinked necklaces and out-of-date earrings once and for all-- and get paid for it too!

Wow! I wonder how much Fast Cash Gold Parties paid for this "article"? This is a scam from start to finish! 1) set up someone to be "hostess" and lure her unsuspecting friends to the party. 2) Have a "technician" offer pennies on the dollar to a clueless victim with a few drinks in her. 3) give the hostess a kickback and run! 4) Manipulate a writer into running a free ad disguised as an article!
Hopefully not everyone who reads this piece will be naive enogh to fall for it! ALWAYS ASK WHAT YOU ARE GETTING PER GRAM FOR YOUR GOLD PEOPLE!

    Gary,

NOTHING in my research indicated this was a "scam". This article was a look at a new trend from which many people have prospered. Furthermore, it has been previously reported in other media outlets such as ABC news, Palm Beach Post, and Kool 105.5.

Your premise that because this is a party, guests will be so inebriated as to impair their judgment? Really? Have you ever heard of Tupperware, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef...etc. etc. Only this way, guests leave with cash instead of paying out for merchandise.

I've got to ask-- did you even read the article?? We're talking about broken junk chains and lost earrings that people have had in their possession for years and have done nothing with them to date, so the gold party idea was highlighted as a method for acquiring some easy cash.

Finally, I've got to tell you I can give little credence to your opinion altogether since you falsely accused this writer of unethical practices. Shame on you!

ok gary, first of all I do not live in fl.,and secondly I did attend a gold party in my state. I was invited by a friend whose daughter was hosting a party. there were about thirty people coming and going in the short time that I was there. no one was "unsuspecting" and no one "ran." also there were several men who sold their items as well.and the only "drinks" were soda. the technician and his wife were very professional.
almost everyone liked the offer that was made to them. only two people said no. and I'll finish by saying that you sound a little jaded.

The most fair and transparent company out there is FreeGoldScale.com . They send you a free digital gold scale to weigh your gold on, in the privacy of your own home, so you know how much your gold weighs. Next, use their online gold calculator to figure out what your gold is worth and see what they will pay you BEFORE you send it in. They pay within 24 hours via check, paypal or wire transfer. THEY ARE SO HONORABLE THEY TELL YOU UPFRONT WHAT THEY ARE PAYING for gold, and are paying top dollar. Most companies won't tell you what they are paying because they are paying so litte. Not so at www.FreeGoldScale. They are trying to bring fairness and transparency to this industry. Backed by founders of an online stock trading company that helped transform that industry and was latter merged with E-Trade. If you want to sell your gold, check them out, they pay more than pawn shops, jewelers, or other online companies.

    Gary,
My wife and I own Fast Cash Gold Parties and I am really impressed with your knowledge of how we run our business when you have never attended a party we have conducted. We have conducted over 300 parties in the last year and have not had one person upset. We have had people who did not sell to us but that is because it was a sentimental piece and if someone is unsure about selling something to us we encourage them to get a second opinion or just keep it. I also instruct our staff to make sure guests know if they have a piece that could bring them more by selling it as a piece of jewelry and not scrap they should visit a jeweler in the area or sell it privately. We conducted a party last night with Mo & Sally of Kool 105.5 and every person that sold to us was asked by the Sally if they were happy and everyone was very excited about what they received. We did not contact any reporter to do a story on us and Gary if you would like I could set it up to where you could attend...cont

Hey, they just don't do that in south Florida. they have them here in the mid south all the time. their some companies that will buy your gold that you don't want for a few dollars more than a pawn shop which is by far safer. Also, those same companies will offer to melt down your collected gold to remake new jewelry of some design, that's a pretty cool offer.

one of our parties where you could speak from experience instead of trashing our company when you know nothing about us. I think it is really sad that you are trashing us when we are trying to help people in these tough economic times and run a business to support our family at the same time. I have found that people who degrade others who are actually doing something usually have nothing going on for themselves. I would encourage anyone who reads this article to do some research on our company and find out if we have had any complaints or if there is anything bad besides what Gary so eloquently wrote about us any where. Do a google search on Fast Cash Gold Parties and see what we are all about!

Well, I think I can certainly add to this conversation. I was "taken" by one of these parties. I had a 14 karat gold chain and received $210 for it. At the time I thought it was a good deal. That was until I found a website that shows what they would pay per gram for 14k gold and discovered that if I had gone with them I would have received over $400!!!! Now, because I trusted my friend who hosted this party, I lost almost $200 at a time I could really use the cash. Thanks a LOT Fast Cash Gold Parties! Maybe you should change your name to HALF Cash Gold Parties.

Normally I do not comment on articles but feel inclined to do so because I personally went to a gold party where Fast Cash Gold Parties was the company weighing, testing and buying my gold. The couple that was there was very professional and they explained the whole process from start to finish. I understand that people may be skeptical as I also was. So much, in fact, that before the party I went to a local hotel buying company before the party and got an estimate of what my junk was worth. Surprisingly enough, I was offered nearly double by Fast Cash Gold Parties!! There was no pressure with Fast Cash Gold Parties and I was very pleased with what I was offered.

recently attended one of these parties with my husband. he had a very heavy 18kt. ring with a large opal in it. someone had given it to him but it isn't his style so he wanted to sell it. we had inquired before we got there and were told that they don't buy or pay for stones. he thought if the price was right for the gold he would get the stone removed elsewhere. the couple who
worked for the company took one look at the ring and said not to sell it to them. they just could not pay what it is worth. (it was made by a famous jewelry designer.) we thought that was very honest of them. i on the other hand brought in a few pieces of
jewelry (either broken, kinked or junk) and was thrilled to leave
with just under $300.so go for it people!
