The University of Cincinnati Bearcats held steady at No. 5 in this week's BCS computer rankings, a spot they've held for three consecutive weeks.

The Bearcats were idle this week before heading into their final two games against Illinois and at Pittsburgh.  Cincinnati remained fifth ahead of No. 6 Boise State, an easy winner at Utah State Friday night.

The top seven teams (and nine of the top 10) remained unchanged in the latest BCS standings. The lone change among the top 10 teams was Oregon taking over the No. 8 spot from LSU.

Ahead of the Bearcats (.8591) are Florida (.9664), Alabama (.9614), Texas (.9263) and TCU (.8699).  TCU has one more regular season game against New Mexico next Saturday. TCU's current strength of schedule is 32. The Bearcats - 34. That should change after UC takes on Illinois and No. 8 Pitt.

UC is ranked 5th in Harris and Coaches polls, ranked 3rd by the computers.

The Bearcats next play Friday at Nippert Stadium against Illinois (3-7), starting at noon.  The final game of the regular season is at Pittsburgh on Dec. 5.
