I’m not sure what they put in the water over there at La Gloria Cubana but let me just say, they are on FIRE this year! Still rolling with the success of their Serie R and Artesanos line, look for my article on the amazing La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Obelisco, they released samples of La Gloria Cubana Serie N last week at ICPCR. And there’s only one word that can describe it. Wow.
The aesthetics of the box is immediately enticing. It’s packaged in a very interesting bright-red, hexagonal, wooden box with the beautiful gold “Serie N” logo. Upon opening, you’ll notice the arrangement of the 24 cigars in a quirky angular configuration.
I recently sat down with Charles Ferguson, Operations Manager at Emerson’s Cigars in Hampton Roads, Virginia, for his take on the Serie N. Charles has nearly a decade of experience in the cigar industry. His knowledge and extensive dedication to this business instantly made him my go-to guy. That, and he smoked my sample… Here’s what he had to say about La Gloria Cubana Serie N:
“Upon initial examination, it was hard not to notice this cigar’s impressive construction. It was firm, but not too hard, with a very pleasant aroma. The first third was pretty mild with a good draw and lots of smoke. Almost akin to the strength of tea.
However, that changed in the second third, like going from tea to coffee. The increase in intensity brought with it some nice rich flavors. Stronger, but not too spicy.
The final third was like switching from coffee to espresso and finalized the Serie N as a full-bodied smoke. There was lots of flavor with some great chocolate undertones.
Overall, the Serie N was an amazing cigar. I can’t wait to bring it to my customers.”
