67 days into the Gulf oil spill crisis, four affected State Governors have now issued proclamations declaring this Sunday, June 27th as A Day Of Prayer. As recently reported here, Texas Governor Rick Perry is one of the Gulf Coast Governors to issue an appeal to make Sunday a day of prayer.
Perry stated-" It seems right and fitting that the people of Texas should join with their fellow Gulf Coast residents and others across the country and around the world to thank God, seek his wisdom for ourselves and our leaders, and ask him for his merciful intervention and healing in this time of crisis."
Alabama Governor Bob Riley said-"Throughout our history, Alabamians have humbly turned to God to ask for His blessings and to hold us steady during times of struggle. This is certainly one of those times."
Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour wrote-" Prayer allows us the opportunity to reflect and seek guidance, strength, comfort and inspiration from Almighty God and citizens of Mississippi are urged to pray....."
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal declared-"June 27th as a Statewide Day of Prayer for perseverance "
MY prayer agrees with each of these AND that our Government will not politicize this tragedy nor nationalize this industry. May God give supernatural wisdom and strategy to those working to repair and to restore. May God pour His love and grace upon the families who have lost loved ones. May our nation re-awaken to God's love revealed through His Son Jesus Christ and to His righteousness and justice revealed through His Word, the Christian Scriptures.
"I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth-that God governs in the affairs of men." --Benjamin Franklin
May the "leak" be repaired, economic freedom preserved, the environment restored, families healed and nations unified through this in spite of its horrific scope. May Church and State agree that we need a miracle !

gulf oil spill solution pt.2 by jcrutland..on you tube. (GOD's answer to your prayers in the Gulf!!!)Revelation 13;9
Why wouldn't they declare a day of prayer? It helps them look all Christiany. Southern folk like their governors Christiany.
Good for you Governors. The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 " If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land" This is the only way...
I emailed this article to my friends and family. We will pray to God Almighty, our God who hears and answers.
Thank you for publishing these statements and your own strong statement of prayer and declaration for those working this crisis. We join in agreement with you for God's solution.

Our prayer is that Governor Crist would join in this call to prayer for the State of Florida. Many Floridians are praying and seeking God's face for His mercy, compassion, and intervention in this disaster! Thanks so much for publishing this news story! May it spread across our great nation!
I agree that as a nation we need to turn to God, repent and cry out to him to stop this - He wants us all, as a Nation, to turn to Him to stop this!
Word God says, Matthew 18:19-20, Again, I tell you if tow of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name,(Jesus) there am I with them.
why not hire better engineers
correction on phrase: For where two or three come together in my name (Jesus), there I am with them.
At our church in North Carolina we joined you in praying for
the hand of God to cap that oil spill, believing that He can
and will when He hears the cry of His people.
Fix the possession error in your title: More Governors, not More Governor's.
Also, I agree with glurr. All prayer does is give Perry an excuse to hide his inaction with a higher power, instead of actually helping to resolve the situation. Looks like Rick "Chicken" Perry is too afraid to do anything about the spill for fear it might mess with his hair.
I thank God there is finally something done to let God take control of our lives by coming to Him and asking His help. It is about time that our government see's that and changes.
2nd CHRONICLES 7:14 IF MY PEOPLE.WHICH ARE CALLED BY MY NAME, SHALL HUMBLE THEMSELVES,AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY FACE,AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN, AND WILL HEAL THEIR LAND. I AM SORRY BUT THIS NATION AND OUR LEADERS WILL HAVE TO HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND REPENT OF THEIR SINS AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS AND THEN TURN TO ONE GOD, THE JEHOVAH GOD OF THE HOLY BIBLE AND PRAY THEN WILL I HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND. COME ON MINISTERS IT IS TIME THAT WE STAND UP AND CALL THE PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT NATION BACK TO GOD. GOD WILL NOT BE WINKED AT ONLY TRUE REPENTANCE WILL GET THE JOB DONE AT THIS TIME. IF THIS NATION DOES NOT REPENT OF ITS GREAT SINS AND GET ON THEIR KNEES TO ALMIGHTY JEHOVAH GOD AND ASK HIS SON JESUS CHRIST TO COME INTO THEIR LIVES AND FORGIVE THEM OF THEIR SINS AND TO SAVE THEM. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY THAT GOD WILL HEAR OUR PRAYERS IF NOT I AM AFRAID OUR PRAYERS WILL FALL ON DEAF EARS.
God is the only help that can change the oil spill if it is his will to do. We have to be sincere in our prayer to him and acknowledge to him that we need him not just for the oil spill but that we need him all the time to guide us through all things.
We are nothing without God in our lives.
The infallible word of God says in Ezekiel 47:9, speaking of the river that flows out from under the Throne;
"And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes." NKJV This is one good scripture to pray for the Gulf.
Prayer Warriors in South Carolina lifting you up in prayer and seeking the mighty hand of God to plug that oil gusher. He is more than able to solve this problem. Fear Not!! Be still and know that He is God.
