Governor Perry Proclaims Sunday June 27th As Day of Prayer

The Gulf Coast oil rig explosion, now infamously known as the "BP oil spill",  tragically took 11 precious human lives.  The political posturing and finger pointing continue as does the flow of oil underneath the oceans surface.   Environmentalists are screaming, the Obama administration is threatening,  radicals are marching,  lawyers are posturing and State and local governments are preparing.....for the worst.

Christian ministries are calling for specific prayer for this crisis and Texas governor Rick Perry has also taken definite spiritual steps in addition to the response and preparation process that is in overdrive and overtime.  As always, when most anyone in public office calls for Christian prayer, there will be those who do not like it but holding office does not mean one has to lay down their faith.  You might remember this years rabid controversy over The National Day of Prayer !

Here is the official link to Governor Perry's proclamation:

In our needed concern for the environment and all of Creation, we should indeed seek the Creator!  I invite you to join thousands of Texas Christians this Sunday in seeking the Lord for HIS wisdom, HIS mercy and HIS strategy to end this tragedy.  Remember the families who are grieving over their lost loved ones as you pray.
