An addendum to AVATAR: Believe the Hype, Part I. Absolutely go to the Great Clips Imax Theatre at the MN Zoo to see Avatar. And absolutely WEAR THOSE DORKY 3D GLASSES. I feel so sorry for the people who live all over the country/ who CANNOT see AVATAR in 3D. Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra money. And do yourself another favor. Order your tickets online. It saves you tremendous amounts of stress, avoiding the lines, the weather and the cold, knowing you have a seat. What a great Christmas gift too. Take the family. Give it as a gift for those 'hard to shop for' people. Buy yourself the gift. Go with friends. Go by yourself. Just go!
Tips on the movie/ and the Imax. First of all: drain your bladder before the movie starts. This movie definitely needs an intermission. During the last 20 minutes of the most intense part of the movie: I HAD to 'go'! I am glad I did not. But it made the experience painful. This implies, don't buy a drink at the movie. You will regret it. And don't buy popcorn. This is not a popcorn movie. You can't brush the ferns away / or grab all the little 'jellyfish-sea anemone 'spirits' with buttery fingers. Just trust me: don't do it. You need both hands to grip your chair/ and face.
Last tip: The 4th row of the Imax is where they have the 'double' seats, smack in the center of the rows. We happened upon these rows, responding to our son's directions to sit 'in the middle' for the best seats. He also said, 'Don't sit TOO close.' Thus we went up four rows, and chose the center seats. We don't know if these seats are 'love seats' for 2 people, or designed for people who need to join WeightWatchers. We didn't like them at first, but when we tried the single-seaters...we quickly changed back to the double-seaters, and we'll be fans for life.
Oh Avatar! Oh Imax! Oh 3-D sunglasses! We will return. All day yesterday I kept saying, "I want to live there." Yep...that's how much I liked the move.

This movie has cost 500 million dollars to produce. Its an over funded movie which isnt worth the dime youve spent. Imagine the worth while constructive things you could have done with this instead of a motion picture. "like helping the homeless or funding for food shortages or anything else that is worthy" People these days idolize the ones in the spotlight of this tube which teaches nothing but corruption like greed and power and escapes them from prioritys that should be instilled in young ones lives by diverting them with a fantasy. Its bogus . This movie is bogus. And so is Hollywood.
@Activist
Go cry somewhere else. No one wants to hear your negativity.
Awesome Movie, instantly one of my favorite of all time. Great visual and immersive storyline.
"Activist" dude, if it makes you feel any better spent some time here (www.thehungersite.com) and lighten up a little. Give the movie and the creativity behind it the appreciation it deserves.
This is the best movie of my life! Pandora is so beautiful, I want to live there too.
Psst. It cost $380 million. But of course people who don't read and think for themselves just regurgitate what they were told to think. Also you will excuse me if I don't give a crap if it does cost 500 million. The technology developed in Avatar is going to give rise to movies we have never seen before. Just as the LOTR saga gave us characters that could have never been done prior to that trilogy.
Including promoting it , it cost 500 million. I watched the movie. Better to download it then to pay the money. Goto a torrent site and get it free. It isnt very good.
I love this movie I wish you will have part 1 to part 5 please!!! coz I love to watch this pls.....
