Keep God in America. For some, a lost cause...an impossibility. But not for Chris Nwasike. To him, keeping God in America is a vision that drives him to push through the nay-sayers so that these four words become a reality.
But how can one man accomplish such a far-fetched mission? For starters, he has organized a rally and called it, of all things, Keep God In America.
The premise of Keep God In America (KGIA) is that America is failing because we've taken God out of it. Yet this country was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Our first amendment right prohibits the impeding of our free exercise of religion, but here we are removing prayer from our school to removing the Ten Commandments from our court houses.
Chris Nwasike believes that the epidemic of teenage pregnancy, increased abortion rate, high crime rate, etc. are all symptoms of a greater challenge--a lack of reverence for God and a lack of accountability.
'Our founding fathers realized and unanimously agreed that without the God of the Bible, there would be no America. According to Alexis Tocqueville, author of Democracy in America, one of the reasons America is so successful is because of the Christian faith.'
So why are we using secular solutions to solve our problems? 'There's only one God who talks change and reformation, and there's only one way to God,' said Nwasike. 'Why not take the money from unsuccessful programs and instead spend some of it on faith-based programs?'
Nwasike recognizes that people are looking for hope. If they don't get it from the church, they'll look elsewhere. Consequently, KGIA is a three-day sequence of events set to motivate people to action and compel the churches to bring alternative solutions to some real problems.
The free rally will bring together existing faith-based organizations and churches to showcase America's Judeo-Christian heritage. The weekend event begins Friday evening, March 26 at UNF. Wall Builders Rick Green will take us through America's historical documents.
Saturday, March 27 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will begin with studying the actions of our founding fathers and move through history to the present, demonstrating just how far we've drifted away from their intentions.
Sunday, March 28 will be family day at Metropolitan Park. Gates will open at 12:30. Bounce houses, cookouts, a World War 2 fighter jet, pony rides, and face painting will entertain the children. Speakers include Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford, 40 Days for Life co-founder David Bereit, and New Life Christian Fellowship Pastor Paul Zink. Praise and prayer will emphasize 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Nwasike radiates confidence in his final declaration: 'America is not lost. There is hope, not in man, but hope in the God of our founding fathers.'
(Chris Nwasike will be speaking more about Keep God in America this Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m. at Mandarin Worship Center, 12700 Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville.)

I have great respect for KGIA and Chris to have the courage to go forth for this cause! Everyone who believes in keeping God in America should show up to support this!
Thank you, Rhonda. Chris is an amazing person, and I was so honored to have been able to interview him for this article. The community does need to get behind this rally and Chris and support both.
{"'Our founding fathers realized and unanimously agreed that without the God of the Bible, there would be no America. "}
Is this why Thomas Jefferson rewrote the bible to his own satisfaction? AKA the Jeffersonian bible
Our founding fathers where escaping the religious central authority. For instance, the Calvinist who founded Jacksonville, Florida, who were, by the way, the first Europeans to set foot in North America. . They were considered to be a dangerous sect by the controlling catholic church of France in the 1500s. The same disassociation is true with the pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, and the central controlling Church of England. Our founding fathers desired to interpret the scripture as god breathed it into there hearths. Not, mandated by the state as the ultimate source of revelation.
{Chris Nwasike believes that the epidemic of teenage pregnancy,}
My lords mother gave birth to him when she was a teenager. In the context of the paragraph in which you made this st
statement, I dont see what is negative about a teenage pregnancy. Just because other peoples mothers were old whores when they came into this world, he shouldnt take it out on the rest us. But, Im not holding up trophy. Because you have no idea what it must have been like to come into this world through a spirit so fresh and pure. A man coming into this world through spirit so pure might have a feeling of immortality dont you think? Rot in hell satan!
What?
Come out and support this historic and unconventional move happening in our lifetime...it's a fabulous cause, especially in light of what's currently taking place in DC.
May God continue to bless America!
Thank you, Valana, for your comment.
Great article. I connected your article with my 2010 Census "Missing in Action" under Domestic Violence. Keep them coming Sherrie. Good feedback too.
