Record breaking cold temperatures have been reported in various states and countries, and The UK Telegraph even went so far as to report that, “Energy crisis is postponed as new gas rescues the world.” The BBC made a claim on Sunday that, “Globe Not Warming, Maybe Cooling.”
Now that the global warming crisis is over, does that mean that the threat of the cap and trade bill is over? It’s a nice thought, but probably not. Nevertheless, it is curious that global warming is "suddenly" over for about 30 years. Perhaps the manufactured economic crisis had something to do with that. Not that unemployment, failed businesses, failed banks and the housing debacle aren’t real, but much of that could have been avoided by some fiscal responsibility on the part of congress. So now that people are losing their homes, their cars, their jobs and many have been out of work for over a year and still can’t get a job that’s going to allow them to pay for the overinflated prices of cars, houses, and the cost of living in general, it will be interesting to see just what Washington will do with cap and trade.
The vicious cap and trade tax bill which would slap a $3000 tax on American families was a topic of discussion over the weekend at a Northern Kentucky Tea party. Not only did State Representative candidate Mike Wilson bring out the fact that cap and trade would do further destruction to the American economy, but Congressman Geoff Davis said that cap and trade is, "nothing more than the economic penalization of hard working states who produce the energy for food, that manufacture goods, and then take that money to pay for social programs and force socialism among the states…if we would use the energy sources that God gave us, we would have more than enough for what we need to do." Funny, the article in the UK Telegraph (mentioned above) touches on using natural gas as an energy option for Britain. There they go, using what God has given them. What a concept.
As for other solutions to the dilemma of the insane bills that Washington rolls out and tries to make into laws, Congressman Davis hit on the importance of voter participation when he stated that, "61 percent of self-identified Christian conservatives, Catholic and Protestant, stayed home. In 2008, during the presidential election, 55 percent stayed home."
Truly every vote does count. Not only for the congressional seats and in the general election, but also in the primaries. If more of an effort is made to vote in the primaries, then "We the People" might not have to choose between the "lesser of two evils."

The Global Warming Deniers are still promoting their Global Cooling, out-of-touch-with-reality delusion.
In reality, we have:
NOAA: Warmest Global Sea-Surface Temperatures for August and Summer
The worlds ocean surface temperature was the warmest for any August on record, and the warmest on record averaged for any June-August (Northern Hemisphere summer/Southern Hemisphere winter) season according to NOAAs National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C.

For Sept. 2009, world temperatures for meteorological stations set a record high for the warmest Sept. on record.

Any yes/no decision on cap and trade should be based on the economics and science involved - and not based on the usual political propaganda.
It's people like Bill who just don't get it. Those quotes above are the last hope of people who actually believe we're causing the earth to warm and that it's going to continue to warm at accelerated rates. Met has a prediction that between 2010 and 2015, we'll see half those years warmer than 1998. Only time will tell. But for now, one just has to look out side, which I believe Bill may not be doing. It's time to actually go outside and look around at the thousands of record low temperatures during 2009 - with more to come this winter. I'm in North Florida and we've not seen 18 degree (consistently) nights in a very, very long time. We're affraid that this winter will be another hard winter - as will the next 10 to 20.
I don't understand why people don't understand this is what the planet does. Warms for 30 years, cools for 30 years, warms for 18 years, cools for 30 years (if we are lucky). This is not global warming on hold, this is what the planet does. I am personally annoyed because I did not get to live through 30 years of warming. I was born too late for the 30 years of warming from the 20's to the 50's but I did get to live through the 30 years of cooling from the 50's to the 80's. I want my money back because I only got 18 years of warming. Do I sound like the warmists now? They want all your money because it is too hot. Hey guys, the cap and trade will mean you can't have your air anymore! It will also mean people will freeze to death in the United States of America. That is a crime.
It is snowing in CO which is why Bill is not outside.
Heres the look outside for Tallahassee Florida (north Florida).
High temperature 91 degrees (and very humid)
High temperature for Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009 was 90 degrees
High temperature for Saturday, Oct 10, 2009 was 93 degrees
All are somewhat warmer than:
I'm in North Florida and we've not seen 18 degree (consistently) nights in a very, very long time.

Locally, in Durango weve been in the 60s recently, including 65 today - and this is supposed to be snow country.

If you are going to make assertions about the weather/climate (particularly past observations), you will have a lot more credibility if you cite your sources. If you wish to present evidence that the earth is cooling, please provide evidence.
As for my observations, I have been observing local weather for over 10 years and send in reports daily to a weather research project at:

The comment box won't let me document anything, but please follow my previous messages for links to documentation.
There's been no global warming over the past decade, according to the BBC, New York Times and Christian Science Monitor. The United Nations' climate scientists are back-pedaling like crazy.
The simple truth is that America needs our own Climate Truth Commission. Outsourcing climate science to the UN makes no sense. The UN is more concerned about politics and funding than science. Plus, UN forecasts for the last 10 years do not fit what actually happened. The United States needs our own objective, transparent climate commission to think-through global warming.

Thanks for your comments everyone.
Bill, did you click on any of my links above? They
support my facts. Also, Montana, Idaho, and
several other states are reporting cooler than normal
temperatures, and in some cases, snow sooner than
theyve ever gotten it. Australia is also reporting
record cold. Like you, I cant include the web addresses
here, but you can see several reports on DrudgeReport(dot)com
Below is a link to a NOAA site where you can create your own graph of average global temperatures over any specified time period back to 1880 using three different data sets. I encourage you to visit this site and create a graph from 1880 to present and decide for yourself if you believe there is a cooling trend. You will find that you could isolate many areas of the graph and argue that there is a cooling trend, but when you look at the big picture, it is very clear what is really hapening.
