Senate convenes at night to crucify the nation's economy

Much like the Jewish Sanhedrin did 20 centuries ago when they convened in the dark of night to decide the fate of Jesus Christ, the United States Senate is planning to convene this Saturday night to decide the fate of this once great Christian nation.  Will they crucify our economy with their final decision?

If the current 2,000 page health bill ever passes, it will be the death of our nation.

Some may say that it is already too late.  The stimuless bill passed earlier this year seems to have already ensured our demise.  If this health bill is passed then it will be another nail in our nation's wrist.  No matter how many lofty promises are made, facts and figures speak for themselves.  Our nation can not afford to pay for everyone's healthcare, because we are our nation, you and me, not those in office who are deciding our fate.

Healthy individuals who live paycheck to paycheck, the over-taxed and underpaid, can not afford healthcare premiums to double or triple, nor can they can afford a $10,000 fine for not being able to pay for the coverage.  Throwing people in jail, even the threat of throwing anyone into jail, for not paying someone else's bills is criminal in and of itself, and far from merciful - which is the guise of this entire healthcare bill: mercy on the less fortunate.  Only we become the less fortunate.  We become the poor and defenseless.

The high expectations of our Government to burden the people of the United States with a debt they can not afford to pay, in order to cover the bills and debts of others, including those who have lived reckless irresponsible lives, or have not paid their fair share into the system, is not only unrealistic, it is cruel and unwise.  These decisions are not based upon our best interest, or those whom the Government has decided we should take pity upon, because ingratiating each one of them into a flawed and failed system is to doom them to our own demise.

Acts of mercy should be made clear to those who are in power:  We will help whomever we can help, after we have taken care of our own.  We are also smart enough to know that you should not write checks when you carry a negative balance.  You do not make promises which are impossible to keep.  Living in denial helps no one.  Believing we can not fail or go bankrupt is naive and foolish at best.  We are not impervious to failure.  Just because our nation has not yet fallen to other world powers, does not mean it can not or will not happen.

America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles which we must remember and learn from or we'll succumb to the destruction the original colonists narrowly survived.  Our founding fathers warned of large government.  They warned against not putting God first.  They warned of a system that enslaved it's people, and we have done a fine job of ridding this country of one kind of slavery only to exchange it for another.

How many of you are truly free?  How many of you can afford to walk away from your job and live off the land?  How many of you even own the land you live on?  Now think: How much money have you given to the IRS over the years?  How much of that actually goes to run our country?  Do you realize that money to operate our country and pay for our military is supposed to come from business taxes, not individual taxes?  As individuals we pay state taxes and local taxes.  We pay licenses and fees.  We pay money left and right for our schools, roads, and local government, yet we now have a national debt of 12 trillion dollars.  That is approximately $39,000 for every man, woman, and child in the United States.  If you have a family of four, you not only have a mortgage and credit card bills, you now owe $156,000 which will need to be collected at some point, thanks to your friendly United States Government.  Have you truly asked why?

Our Government has played us for fools.  We pick sides, Republican or Democrat, and we spend so much time fighting amongst ourselves that we have not taken the time to realize that we are all in this together.  Us against them is not you against me as much as it should be you and me against the ones who will send us to prison if we do not conform to their rules, paying more than we ever wanted to pay for that which we never wanted and should not be held responsible for in the first place.

Jesus, my Lord and my God, was crucified for being Himself.  For being too outspoken.  For bucking the trends.  For speaking against authority.  For believing what others refused and feared to believe.  He was an innocent man who offended those who were afraid of losing their power over the people.  He could have fought physically, but He did not.  Rather, He spoke the truth, and gave up His life willingly for the cause He believed in, the reason He was here - the salvation of His people - those who were and those who were to come.

Maybe you and I should do the same.  It's not too late.

Regardless that Reid and Pelosi wrap themselves in FDR era perversions of the general welfare and commerce clauses as their best excuse to force Obamacare down our throats, the truth of the matter is this. You will never hear these dear "leaders" mention these clauses in the same sentence with Article V or the 10th Amendment.

More specifically, what Reid and Pelosi are scandalously ignoring is this. Given the Constitution's silence about public healthcare, the 10th A. automatically reserves government power to regulate healthcare to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress.

In fact, the USSC has already noted the following in relevant case opinions. The states have never exercised their Article V powers to amend the Constitution to surrender their healthcare powers to Congress. So Congress has no business regulating intrastate medicine.

“Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously beyond the power of Congress.” –Linder v. United States, 1925.

I can see them resurrecting the "debtor's prison" for those who refuse to pay taxes, or fines, imposed by this piece of junk.
