The ever poetic King David wrote the very famous line: "You knit me in my mother's womb" ~ Psalm 139:13  This scripture has been used repeatedly by pro-life Christians to emphasise the sanctity of the unborn, and to oppose embryonic stem cell research.  Unfortunately, many people who are pro-choice choose to support embryonic stem cell research despite the fact that embryonic stem cells have been a collosal failure, a money pit, and a poor excuse for even worse politics.

Case in point: California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger caved into political pressure and as a result good science and common sense have been thrown out the window.

According to an Oct. 11th press release: "Governor Schwarzenegger has signed a bill authorizing new curriculum to teach schoolchildren the lie that embryonic stem cell research heals people (it doesn't), that it doesn’t harm people (it has caused tumors and cancer in patients), and doesn't kill human beings (it does, by destroying human embryos).  By signing SB 471, curriculum will be created to teach children that embryonic stem cell research is good, helpful, harmless and ethical, when just the opposite is true,” said SaveCalifornia.com President Randy Thomasson.

“It’s absurd for the Legislature and the Governor to continue putting money the state doesn’t have, plus valuable classroom time, into California’s $3 billion failed experiment on embryonic stem cells.  Embryonic stem cell research hasn’t produced a single effective treatment ... The State of California should instead support research in adult stem cells and cord blood stem cells, which are successfully treating more than 70 conditions, ranging from Parkinson’s disease to spinal cord injuries to blindness.”

So why are people fighting for embryonic stem cells?  Why do embryonic stem cells get so much attention while adult stem cells and the scientific advancements in that arena go largely ignored?

Maybe Arnold does not know the truth.  Or maybe he is willing to turn a blind eye in order to please a certain group of people.  Or maybe he never watches Oprah.  Below is a video of Dr. Oz explaining to both Oprah and Michael J. Fox why the embryonic stem cell debate "is dead."

Excellent questions! They can't see the Creator in the creation, or life in the womb, so how would they discern the good idea from the bad?
