Controversy surrounded the Tim Tebow and Mom Super Bowl ad long before it aired last night during the New Orleans Saints 31-17 come from behind victory over the favored-to-win Indianapolis Colts. Now that it has aired, MSNBC said this morning that it was one of the worst Super Bowl commercials of the night.
The pre-Super Bowl discussion was primarily focused on the issue of abortion - whether that was an option or not for Mrs. Tebow when she was pregnant with Tim, and whether CBS should broadcast a decidedly pro-life commercial. Focus on the Family, a Christian organization, created and sponsored the commercial featuring the 2007 Heisman Trophy Winner and his loving mother.
Now that everyone has had a chance for themselves to see the ad (if not, then you can watch it below) Are you as disappointed as the reporters at MSNBC? Was the commercial a let down? Maybe you like it and thought it was actually sweet and surprising. Vote in the poll below.

Thanks to CBS and local CBS affiliate CBS8 in San Diego for broadcasting the Super Bowl and this commercial despite the uproar.

Tim won the heisman in 2007
I was disappointed. As much stink as some people put up about it, I was expecting it to be a more blatent pro-life message... but really it was just "I love my son, yay Timmy!". I think that most people, had they not heard about it before-hand or if they didn't know of Focus on the Family before... probably had no idea what the commercial was even getting at. I was wondering if the commercial was edited/changed after the controversy, 'cause I can't understand what in the world pro-choice people were complaining about!
