Lou Dobbs, host of "Lou Dobbs Tonight" on CNN, announced today that "This will be my last broadcast." Although growing speculation has circulated regarding how long Lou Dobbs would be allowed to speak with livid candor on a liberal network like CNN, this most likely came as a big surprise to his television audience who had no official forewarning that he was on his way out. Now the question arises: Where will he go? What will he do? Take his talent and opinions to a rival network, like Fox News?
This would seem to be an appropriate fit since Fox News is more open to Conservatives, Christians, Independents, and those who are less likely to tow the line when it comes to current Government propaganda. Lou Dobbs has been known for not quite fitting the media mold in regard to such controversial issues as illegal immigration. And the Fox News Channel is currently the number one news channel, dominating cable news like a Corvette racing an Escort, while recruiting some of the best and the brightest which would definitely describe Lou Dobbs.
A one-time financial journalist, Dobbs was recruited by CNN in 1980 to help build the network as one of it's original anchors as host of the program MoneyLine. Since that time he has won a Cable Ace Award, an Emmy and a Peabody Award. Well-respected by those inside and outside the network, Lou Dobbs most likely has several options as he alluded to today.
"Over the past six months, it has become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us, and some leaders in media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond the role here at CNN and to engage in constructive problem-solving as well as to contribute positively to a better understanding of the great issues of our day and to continue to do so in the most honest and direct language possible."
It will be interesting to see the progression of Lou Dobbs career from this point forward. Whatever route Lou decides to take, he did promise: "I will let you know when I set my course."

Very interesting in deed. I certainly look forward to seeing what Mr. Dobbs ends up doing. I wonder how many big names Fox News is willing to take on. Glenn Beck has been the most recent. Is there room for Dobbs? Nice report dude! Timely too.
Seriously? Fox news is conservative? And CNN is Liberal? Spare me... Fox news is radical and CNN is a little left of center. If you haven't noticed, most Americans fall right in the middle of the pack. It's just that the wings of each party seem to be running each party and acting like children to take the spotlight. I would reconsider the rhetoric of each station before claiming Fox as simply "conservative" and CNN as simply "liberal." A little check in the reality department would be nice.
Fox news conservative? CNN liberal? OHH please.... its all subjective labels depending on who doing the talking.
Gee what a fair and balanced post.
Hopefully he will go to Fox. He was a detriment to real journalism. FOX with it's "content" will welcome him with open arms.
Yeppers good riddance to Dobb the snob if i see his sarcastic dentured grin and hideous come-over again it will be too soon.
"on a liberal network like CNN"
Mr. Girard, please proof read your articles before submitting... You wouldn't want to look like a liar or a republican shill...
You're right Dave - good catch! That's what happens when I'm almost constantly distracted by a new wife, her 3 cats, the phone ringing, people at the door ...
I will miss Lou.
CNN had ONE unbiased, truthful anchor and that was Dobbs. It's so sad that our so called news now is full of "crap:....I turn on MSNBC and see them in a childish manner denigrating good people. They are only good for a laugh w/their leftist thinking.
well is a very angry person always, good that he is gone from cnn.
lou dobbs is always grumbling about something, thank god he is gone from cnn, we want sone one better with more smiles than sulks.

Lots of admiration for Lou Dobbs. He tells things as they are. Certainly not a bobble head. He has America's well being at heart. Lou will better serve his country in the political arena. Go for it, Lou!!!! Like myself, there's so many more Americans behind you.
