Jesus Arteaga 'Alex' Garcia stabbed his wife to death in Chula Vista, CA just south of San Diego last night and is now on the loose. Be on the lookout for the man in the attached photo. He was last seen driving a gray 2007 Ford Ranger pickup truck, California license plate # 8T23674. It had a yellow ribbon sticker in the rear window.
Mr. Garcia is a resident of National City, CA, has a tattoo of a tiger on his right arm, and is considered dangerous and a threat to others.
Anyone with information about the attack or the whereabouts of Alex Garcia should call their local police department and/or the Chula Vista Police Department at (619) 691-5151.
Mr. Garcia was estranged from his wife, 28 year old Maribel Arteaga, with whom he has two children ages 6 and 7. The children were home at the time of the attack. Sadly enough, Maribel was also 2 months pregnant, making this a possible double murder/homocide.
Witnesses told police that Arteaga knocked on the woman's apartment door just before 8:30 p.m. on Santa Alicia Avenue near East Palomar Street. When she opened the door, he stabbed her. Witnesses say it was with a long-bladed knife. Maribel, who worked for Homeland Security, was taken to Mercy hospital where she died.
Please pass along this information, keep alert, notify authorities with any information, and pray for this family at such a grievous time. If anyone knows them personally, now would be a great time to come to the family's aid.
