Obama was compared to Jesus at the national Tea Party convention being held in Nashville, TN this weekend, by Joseph Farah, the founder, CEO, and Editor in Chief of World Net Daily.   He gave a speech on Friday night, Feb. 5th which aired on C-Span.  I watched and listened to his speech "Live", took notes, and would like to share some of it with you.

Judson Phillps, the founder of Tea Party Nation, introduced Joseph Farah to the audience of 1000+ at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel.  The Tea Party originated in 2009 as a response to the Obama administration's efforts to encumber our nation with an insurmountable debt.  Joseph Farah therefore zeroed in on Obama with the question of whether or not his birth certificate is even valid.  Obama's citizenship is a critical factor in holding the office of the President of the United States.

He pointed out that the media thinks the whole birth certificate issue is ridiculous, "Which tells me it's important!"   33% of people in California still doubt the authenticity of the certificate finally produced after much debate, versus approximately 50% nationwide.  Obama said "Don't question my citizenship.  Don't question my faith."  Yet he expects us to have faith in his citizenship.

Farah spoke about the genealogy of Jesus - how important it was to the disciples to trace his lineage along different paths so that they could see and prove that Jesus was a descendant of King David  (a requirement to be the Messiah) as well as a descendant of Adam (Jesus was known as the second Adam).  The disciples wanted to have no doubt.

"His (Obama's) nativity story is much less well known."

The American public is asked to accept on faith that the certificate is valid.  Something that is so simple, so basic, to everyone else in America who is asked to produce their birth certificate for any number of reasons:  to compete in sports, enter the military, to get a passport.  It's really very simple.  Produce the actual document.

"We're in trouble in America.  We're losing our moral bearings."

Joseph Farah compared us to the frog in the pot that is comfortable in the warm water not realizing it is getting hotter and hotter until the water is boiling and it is too late.  "Our country has been moving closer to socialism and further away from God."

Over the past 100 years, the short and long term goals of Italian Communism, have taken over the political institutions of our nation.  An attack has been waged "on the notion of a sovereign God" because "the Government wants to be your God" but "The God of the Bible is real competition."  He tells us love Him first.  We are not to serve idols.

Farah read everyone the scripture which follows this command: "I am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." ~  Exodus 20:4,5

The scripture "requires you to put God first and trust Him."

So what is the answer?  Farah read 2nd Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

"We have to get our spiritual priorities straight."

Rene, your headline is misleading as to what the speech is actually about. If you replace the word "compares" with "contrasts", the headline would be much more accurate.

    Otherwise, great article!

The headline is completely misleading. Its not even close. What happened to the editors?

I don't see how it is misleading, but perhaps you are right Missy. I will make the change.

Did Obama really say not to question his faith?

to Julia: I'm not sure what speech Mr. Farah was referring to; however, you may want to watch the senatorial race between Obama and Alan Keyes on YouTube "Obama Vs. Keyes: Christianity"

I believe Obama said he didn't like having his citizenship or faith questioned at last week's prayer breakfast.
