Mystery Blob
There's a big, black, blob and it may be alive moving through the Arctic Ocean's Chukchi Sea. Thick and oily biological material are floating in the Arctic Ocean's Chukchi Sea north of the Bering Strait says the Anchorage Daily News. "It's certainly biological. It's definitely not an oil product of any kind. It has no characteristics of an oil, or a hazardous substance, for that matter," said a Coast Guard rep. Folks in the North Slope towns of Barrow and Wainwright have never seen anything like it before. Jellyfish and sea birds are getting gobbled up in stuff with "hairy strands on it." "It's definitely, by the smell and the makeup of it, it's some sort of naturally occurring organic or otherwise marine organism," said the Coast Guard. We started in a primordial soup. All right, I think that I'm beginning to understand. Bill is just trying to get a rise from us, hopefully for humor's sake :-)
Is there any chance that this is partially decayed organisms that have just now thawed because of the rise in ocean temperatures? It could be that these organisms thrived in the arctic circle before the ice age. I am anxious to see what the results of the tests.
