Defaming Sarah Palin, a letter from her attorney and the 9th Commandment

Sarah Palin

Before anyone else thinks it might be fun to defame Sarah Palin, to make false accusations, unsubstantiated accusations on whether or not she embezzled funds in the construction of a Wasilla, AK sports arena, her attorney would like for such folk to read a four-page letter. No doubt in mind, the Alaska Governor is innocent.

Palin's attorney warned, “This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who republish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, The New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law.”

The attorney went on, “Just as power abhors a vacuum, modern journalism apparently abhors any type of due diligence and fact checking before scurrilous allegations are repeated as fact.”

Exodus 20:16 - "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

You can bet Palin knows her Bible.

Didn't Palin cite her $500,000 in legal fees as one reason for resigning office? How does adding to that tab help her? Defamation against the press isn't provable unless actual malice can be demonstrated. We are protected by the First Amendment. If Palin pursues legal action against any of these publications, it is going to cost her, big time. And it will just make her appear even more like she's got something to cover up. She doth protest too much.

It seems to me that Sarah Palin is failing on her commitment to the people of Alaska. It seems to me that she should complete her term out of a sense of duty. Was she elected for a full term or a partial term? Did she prewarn the voters that she may not be able to complete her term because of ambition?

I am sure this was not an easy decision to make and all angles were considered and reconsidered prior to the making of her final decision. I don't think this would be a hasty decision given the close association of the media.

Bill writes:" Exodus 20:16 - "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You can bet Palin knows her Bible."
Gee, Bill, since you wrote this I can only presume that YOU do.

And yet you explicitly violate this commandment in a post about thousands of scientists around the globe and stretching back a century.

I really couldn't care less what this narcissistic political hack with a barely half baked intellect undergoes. As a public figure, a position which she chose, she's going to undergo scrutiny. The requests for documentation on her activities has cost the state of Alaska over $2,000,000 thus far so someone is interested in the facts.

I wouldn't be surprised that someone with her narcissistic personality would not see activities, which others might deem unethical as, ok, but we won't know until the facts are in.

In the mean time I thought her talent was clearly revealed on Saturday Night Live. She's quite a clown.

as the lt.gov. said last night, "palin has all ready accomplished everything she promised in her campaign and more. we've accomplished more real projects than have been completed in an entire term, and sometimes two terms."
the state of alaska has spent over 2 million dollars investigating all these false and frivolous accusations and the palin's have spent more than $500,000 doing the same thing, and there is no reason to think the fools filing these claims are suddenly going to stop.
the democrats are stomped all over palin's children and the liberal press gleefully repeated the garbage above the fold every chance they got.
after reading this article, i think the barracude is back. as she implied, there are limits to what can be done from the governor's desk.

"Exodus 20:16 - "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

You mean by accusing them of "palling around with terrorists" or some such?

I guess if you can't stand the heat you have to get out of the kitchen. Bye Sarah :)
