Who has not heard there is a way of life that seems right to us, but eventually leads to weakness, defeat, loss, hardship, debauchery, sin and death? Isn't this how scripture starts? In the Garden of Eden we are told that every tree was OK except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Was it more beautiful than the rest of the trees or did they all look alike? Was it only distinguished by the fact that God said, "Don't eat of this tree?"
Life is all about 'Have it my way.' Every time I hear the Frank Sinatra song, 'I Did It My Way' I am reminded of the song, 'Is That All There Is?' I enjoyed that old TV series, 'Father Knows Best', but thinking about my relationships with my four sons, especially when they were little, hurts. I know that father didn't always know best and still doesn't. A simple exercise in remembering should convince everyone that none of us know or do what is best. Yet, we keep doing our own thing, calling ourselves authentic, genuine; marching to a different drummer who is the same pied piper we've been following since the beginning.
Look around. Do you think doing things our way, according to what seems right to us, has worked? If you think things are fine than you are in denial, probably afraid to think about those who don't have access to good food, clean water or the possibility of a future. The possibility of a future is critical. Remove hope from any equation and what is left? Is the world growing more hopeful or less? Are you growing more hopeful or less? In what do you hope?
Business is the great illusion. It keeps us from asking ourselves questions, questions like the ones above. The busier we are the less time we have to think about who we are, other people, relationships, God, and where 'how we spend our time' is taking us. It is amazing to me that people who say they have no time to be still before God, no time to pray, no time to read their Bibles, no time to even call someone they've been thinking about, can sit for hours in front of a television set. Even if everything on television was educational and enlightening how much time do you spend watching the same news stories and the same commercials again and again and again?
A man recently explained to me what emotional bandwidth is. The web has made me somewhat familiar with bandwidth, but I'd never linked these two words together. So what about spiritual bandwidth? Does it ebb and flow depending on what we are thinking and what we are doing? How do you invest your spiritual bandwidth? What do you invest it in? Are there dividends?
We're told history repeats itself because we don't learn from our mistakes. If today is tomorrow's history, shouldn't we take a little time to be quiet, to be still, and to ask our self, "How is the way I spend my time affecting not only my spiritual bandwidth, and my future, but the people I love; today, tomorrow and after I'm gone?"

To have spiritual bandwidth means you have no need of religion.
The reason being is that it's no longer needed.
What place does faith and belief have to one who can actually "see" spiritually like Jesus did?
A seeing eye dog named Religion becomes just another dog to someone who has regained their sight.
Religion, unfortunately, does not have the cure for this blindness that affects the world. Because they are interested in keeping you blind to milk you for the worldy power they gain from your numbers. Mostly for political purposes.
True religion is NOT a group effort. It's an individual journey.
I invite you there. So you can SEE for yourself. No faith required. Just bandwidth.
