The Back-2-School Backpack Drive sponsored by the Arizona Christian Men’s Basketball Association and the St. Paul United Methodist Men concluded this week.
Although small in scale, the success of the drive was not measured in numbers, but by the excitement on the faces of the children and the appreciation on the faces of the mothers as the back-to-school list just got shorter.
The children received their backpack with basic supplies, a gift card for additional school supplies and a second gift card to purchase a complete school uniform.
The remaining backpacks will be combined with donations from the Tucson Christian Men’s Fellowship, chaired by Pastor Michael Farlin of the Alliance Bible Church. The donations will be then given to a school chosen by the committee.
