Billed as Michigan's fastest growing event for families, also the state's largest outdoor Christian Festival, the 2010 Big Ticket Festival http://www.bigticketfestival.com runs Thursday - Saturday, June 24 - 26, 2010 in Gaylord, Michigan. http://www.gaylordmichigan.net/,  About 200 miles north of Detroit, filling the entire Otsega County Fairgrounds, http://www.otsegocountyfairgrounds.org with everything from action sports competitions, a Kidz Zone, concessions, an ice show showing local ice skaters performing to the music of participating musicians, camping, motivational speakers, and 6 different performing stages featuring over 100 of the top Christian Artists, this festival is sure to be enjoyable for the entire family. A new addition this year is a half marathon sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

The Big Ticket Festival is a ministry of “Free Spirit Ministries of Northern Michigan, Inc.” Free Spirit Minsitries (FSM) is a Michigan Non-Profit Corporation whose focus is sharing the eternal message of Jesus Christ through innovative evangelism. Although the heart of the ministry is directed towards youth, many of the activities of the ministry are directed towards families by bringing families together to enhance them in the areas of love, peace, communication and harmony. Free Spirit Ministries is also partnering with Cornerstone University, http://www.cornerstone.edu/, a Christian University in Grand Rapids.

Since the festival began in 2006, attendance has skyrocketed to over 10,000 guests per day, forcing the festival to relocate in 2011 to the Iona Free Fair http://www.ioniafreefair.com in Iona, Michigan. http://http://www.ioniachamber.org/. This is good news for those in the Detroit area, as well as those in nearby states who wish to attend. The move provides a central location with plenty of room to expand.

The Big Ticket Festival, nicknamed the BTF, expresses its goal as inviting all attendees to "Live. God. Loud." Ticket prices are under $100 for adults for the entire weekend. For full pricing, including reduced rates for groups and children, check their website at http://www.thebigticketfestival.com/tickets.cfm . Gates open at 10:00 a.m. this Thursday and close at midnight each evening. For a full performance schedule, see http://http://www.thebigticketfestival.com/schedule.cfm .
