In a very informative article by Examiner Réne Girard, we are reminded about tomorrow's meeting between the President and our children. This has caused a great deal of upheaval in Christian as well as secular communites.
But what is the actual correlation between faith and the disapproval of Obama's plans for tomorrow? Are there more Christians who disapprove than non-believers? Or, is it pretty even? And, is it because of the issue at hand, or is our disapproval mainly because it is coming from Obama?
What do you think? Here are two polls. The first one, only Christians vote. The second one, only non-Christians vote. Let's see what happens.
Poll #1 (Christians only)
Poll #2 (Non-Christians only)

How are you defining the word "Christian?" From personal experience, people define it differently which is why there is much hesitation for some to put themselves inside that box.
Thanks for the mention/reference. This is definitely a topic worth exploring.
Great idea Michael! The poll, not his speech.
hipm0m77: That is a very good question. Thank you. I think I would define a Christian as someone who believes that Jesus is the Son of God; that he died on the cross, making substitutionary atonement for all past and future sin and that those who have come to a spiritual knowledge of the same through repentance would receive grace and eternal relationship with God the father. I am not concerned about any other doctrinal or denominational destinctives for this poll. If Jesus is your personal savior, then you are a Christian.
I guess I'm not sure what to think because I'm not sure what the point of his speech is. I read his speech from the link that Rene posted on his Web site, and I still don't understand why Obama feels the need to address kids in school.
I think it was either a useful motivational tool, or a waste of class time.
Its value totally depended on its usefulness to the students.
