A recent OneNewsNow article, covered a story that took place in New Hampshire, surrounding a court's decision to force a young girl to attend public school after the separation of her parents.
Apparently, Mom had homeschooled the girl for a while and was supposedly doing quite well. However, Dad wanted his daughter to attend public school.
As it turns out, it was not the quality of the education that was in question, but the fact that, during homeschool, the girl was exposed to Christian ideas.
After a lengthy disagreement, a guardian ad litem was appointed who, according the report, felt that "it would be remarkable if a ten-year-old child who spends her school time with her mother and the vast majority of all her other time with her mother would seriously consider adopting any other religious point of view."
The girl's attorney is concerned that the court was erroneous in focusing on the girl's religion as a means of forcing her to attend public school, rather than going by the girl's academic performance which, according to the above report, is excellent.

I voted no because I don't think the court should be able to force the girl into that, especially if she doesn't want to go to a public school. I think it's important for her to be knowledgeable about other religions, but I think it's the parents' responsibility to educate her, not the public school.
Random question, but I think the poll is a really cool feature to your column. What voting site did you use to add that?
I hope it gets overturned.
The problem I have with this story is the unreliability and potential bias of the source. 100% of what www.onenewsnow.com puts out has a certain idealogical bent that is solely intended to manipulate outrage on the side of their target audience which predictably swallows it all up without question. Whatever it was that actually happened in this case, to me it is obviously clear that it's a lot more complicated then reported. I would love to here the other side of the story.
Alex,
This is just another case of the "tolerant" left trying to force their "values" on everyone else. For more information on the case you can google New Hampshire homescooling in the news search, check out the more detailed story on World Net Daily.
Nice try though on the typical leftie tactic of attacking the messenger when you can't dispute the facts.
Nina,
I used Polldaddy.com. You can embed polls in your articles.
Absolutely, the Federal Government has no right to take a child and put them anywhere. This must be stopped. This is just the beginning of total socialism and CONTROL of the Citizens of America. Everybody, please read and study the Constitution again and vote and fight for our RIGHTS.
