It is tough to find any effort that combines more positive change in more diverse areas than a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This past Friday was the grand opening of a ReStore at 1276 South 500 West in Salt Lake City. With around 500 stores, including three now in Utah, these building material thrift stores do multiple things for their communities.
They serve as an outlet for slightly damages or lightly used or otherwise unwanted building materials to find new and productive uses. They provide local home and neighborhood improvement for projects that otherwise would not be affordable or completed. The stores strengthen communities. And the proceeds continue to fund the work of Habitat for Humanity which provides quality homes for families in need.
In the grand opening of this one ReStore in Salt Lake, H for H is helping conserve building materials, keep waste materials out of landfills, strengthen local communities and provide better housing in depreciating neighborhoods.
For more information on how you can get involved to make a difference or check out the ReStore click here.
