This is the third installment of a discussion on the topic of the modern church. As we continue the exploration of the facets of the modern church, my thoughts were piqued as I was in our weekly men's group at church this morning.
The Church is often referred to as the "bride" of Christ. That would make the Church - symbolically - the wife of Christ as well. This picture became very interesting to me as I began to remember the words of God to Eve after the fall in the garden.
From Genesis 3:16 "... And you will desire to control your husband but he will rule over you." That becomes a very interesting thought when thought of in the context of the church as the wife and Jesus as the Husband. As the last two articles have discussed, there are thousands of denominations (supposedly all of the same faith) that have emerged from one single church and faith that remained virtually the same for the first century of its existance.
