Do you Twitter her or there? Do you Twitter everywhere?
To tweet or not to tweet, in the church, on a hike, while on the pot, or on a bike?
Sounds like the title of a Dr. Seuss book, right? OK maybe not. Do you tweet? Does God tweet? Where do you find yourself tweeting from? Some of the answers out there seem as if they came straight from the topsy turvy world of Dr. Seuss. Is tweeting getting out of hand, or just getting started?
Can Tweeting can hurt you?
According to the Telegraph.co.uk, James Coleman, a jogger, has become the first man in Britain to suffer a 'twinjury' - an injury sustained while using Twitter.Office worker Mr Coleman, 23, was 'tweeting' to his followers on his Blackberry while jogging to work when he cracked his head on a heavy low-hanging branch. The force of the impact sent the dazed runner crashing to the pavement and left him with a badly bruised black eye.
What about Tweeting in Church? Some say it is sin, others say it is a God-sent
Chad Bowen, of the Metamorphosis church, has been getting quit a bit of news coverage for his pro twitter-in-the-church-house stand. In his blog he writes, "We want to show that the church is not stuck in the last century when it comes to reaching people with the latest technology. We believe God has given us tools that He expects us to use the reach the world with His message. And yes I believe if Jesus were on the earth today He would be on Twitter and Facebook. And would have millions of followers and friends."
Others, however, are not getting great reactions when tweeting from the church house
Alexis Martin Neely, a 35-year-old entrepreneur from Hermosa Beach, Calif., says that she was recently kicked out of her church for tweeting. “I was in the back of the sanctuary tweeting the sermon and an usher came over and told me I couldn’t do that there,” says Neely, who attends the Agape International Spiritual Church. “They thought I was violating the copyright, like I was recording it somehow. I got the feeling they didn’t understand what Twitter was.” - MSNBC
Is there Twitter etiquette?
No tweeting while drunk- Although it can be fun for your friends to read the dumb stuff your write, you could really hurt yourself, relationships, and even loose your job
No tweeting while on the toilet - It's just wrong, don't do it
No tweeting while driving - Really, it's the same as texting while driving; you can wait to get to your destination, or pull over. Tweeting is never worth an accident
Do not tweet live shows or game scores - many people DVR, or record games and their favorite shows, so don't give it away.
Do not tweet more than 5 times an hour - no one really has that many important or interesting things to say anyways.
