A Suspect has been arrested in a town near Gardener KS, for the murder of internationally known and sought after abortion doctor, George Tiller, who has long been a focal point of protest by abortion opponents because his clinic, Women's Health Care Services at 5107 E. Kellogg, which is one of the few in the country where late-term abortions are performed.
According to
witnesses Tiller was serving as an usher in the morning service, and his wife, Jeanne, was sitting in the choir at the time of the shooting.
Tiller and his clinic have faced continuous threats and lawsuits. A Wichita jury ruled in March that he was not guilty of illegal abortion on 19 criminal charges he faced for allegedly violating a state law requiring an "independent" second physician's concurring opinion before performing later term abortions. Immediately following the ruling in this criminal case, the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts made public a similar complaint against Tiller that was originally filed in December 2008. -

Tiller, 67, was shot just after 10 a.m. in the lobby of Reformation Lutheran Church at 7601 E. 13th, where he was a member of the congregation. Witnesses, a city official and a police source confirmed Tiller was the victim. Wichita police Capt. Brent Allred, said that the 10am service was already in session when the shooting took place. According to Allred, no other person was hurt in the shooting. It seems that the suspect was waiting by himself in the lobby of the Church, and no one knows, as of yet, it words were exchanged between the two before the shooting.
The investigation will be ongoing, and several people have been taken down town for questioning, as police, F.B.I., and K.B.I. try to put all the pieces together.
The news spread like lightening this morning as people in churches all over the nation got e-mails, phone calls, and texts from friends and family, saying: George Tiller has been murdered! Does it come as a surprise? Many people think not. It was only a month ago that Tiller's office was vandalized.
Was a religious organization responsible for the murder of Tiller?
"We are shocked at this morning's disturbing news that Mr. Tiller was gunned down," anti-abortion group Operation Rescue said in a statement on its Web site. "Operation Rescue has worked for years through peaceful, legal means, and through the proper channels to see him brought to justice. We denounce vigilantism and the cowardly act that took place this morning. We pray for Mr. Tiller's family that they will find comfort and healing that can only be found in Jesus Christ."
There will no doubt be much more information to come.
A live conference will be held at 4pm

As I was running home to prepare this article, a friend of mine made a comment that has stuck on my mind. "If we, Christians, are pro-life, doesn't killing Tiller go against everything that we stand for? It makes no sence to kill someone to spread a message that killing is wrong."
I want to hear how you feel about this news. What do you feel about Tiller being gunned down in church this morning?
