Freedom From Religion Foundation Inc? Is no religion even possible, and do Americans want one? In case you haven't noticed them yet, the Freedom From Religion Foundation has placed several billboards and bus signs all over the nation as apart of their 'Free Thought Billboard Campaign'.
Signs read: 'Imagine No Religion', 'Praise Darwin', 'Sleep in on Sundays', 'Beware of Dogma', and 'No Religion'. Signs have been spotted in Hollywood, Boise, Grand Junction, Little Rock, Topeka, and on 21st and Tyler, here in Wichita.
The organization's official website boasts that it has 13,000 members who support their different avenues of national outreach including a weekly national radio show, newspaper, and even offers a scholarship for freethinking students.
Is the 'Imagine No Religion' vision even possible? Some say that it's a silly thought and makes no real since. Religion as defined by FreeDictionary.com:
4. A cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion.
According to the the definition of the word Religion, The Freedom From Religion Foundation Inc. has started their own religious endeavors. They have formed a 'no religion' religion, which they are religiously spreading across the nation with an impressive religious devotional passion for what they deeply, religiously believe.
The thought of eliminating all religion is like asking a person to stop believing anything. It is impossible. I have atheists friends who are so passionate about what they believe, that you can clearly see that they are devoted, passionate, deeply religious about their beliefs.
What if they did achieve their goal, and we could eliminate all religion? (though it must be a hypothetical thought, because it would take the deepest devotion and sacrifice to make such a thing happen, which in it self describes religion)
We would have to do away with most hospitals, universities, colleges, relief organizations, humanitarian organizations, because most were founded in religion. Even coffee spread because of monks who found its qualities good for helping them stay awake longer to pray.
What about the medical and scientific advancements that would not have been discovered were it not for religions men and women?
- Johannes Kepler who discovered the laws of planetary motion
- Isaac Borrow who was Newton's teacher
- Carolus Linnaeus who was the classifier of all living things
- John Dalton founder of modern atomic theory

Americans do still believe that religion is the answer for most of our current problems.
According to the Gallup, and The Polling Report , at least 51% of Americans do believe that the answers are in religion, although each poll also shows that less people see themselves as religious.
I want to hear from you. What do you think about a religion-less America? Do you even think that a no-religion campaign has any real potential in the states, if so, how would something like this change our way of life, our culture?
