Themed summer camps based on popular book characters or pretend play categories can be a great choice for imaginative Chicago children who love to play while they learn and have summer fun. It's time to start researching summer camps and signing kids up, so here are some fun options in Chicago and its suburbs!

Summer Camps at Impact Dance Studio in LaGrange

One of the best dance studios in Chicagoland, Impact Dance Studio also offers a summer camp schedule full of creative dance camps for young children in June and July.

In Angelina Ballerina camp (based on the books, television series, and toy line about a sweet mouse ballerina), preschoolers and Kindergarteners ages 3 to 6 will make themed crafts and learn to dance like fairy princesses as they prepare for a special performance at the end of the week.

Storybook Garden camp is a theater-based themed camp in which shy children ages 4 to 7 are encouraged to practice performing by acting out scenes from classic children's literature.

In Pop Diva camp, kids ages 7 to 11 who love tween stars like Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, and High School Musical learn Jazz and Hip Hop dance steps and train to be singing and dancing sensations themselves.

For kids ages 8 to 14 who are fans of musical theater, there is Broadway Bound camp, in which a certified instructor teaches students acting skills like reading dialogue, auditioning, and acting out scenes.

There is also a Spirit Camp for cheerleaders ages 11 to 15.

Princess Camp at balance institute of gymnastics

Another option is offered at balance institute of gymnastics in Burr Ridge. Little girls ages 3 to 6 who love Disney Princesses and princesses in general can sign up for Princess Camp in July and August. During camp sessions, girls will meet different princesses, learn gymnastics, prepare for a special dance program and tea party, and participate in fun crafts and games.

Childtime No Limits Summer Camp

A third option for play and learning is themed summer camps at Childtime Learning Centers. Their summer camps are structured to teach children about the world and themselves with hands-on activities. Use the school locator to find the location nearest you.
