The LEGO® stores are celebrating classic LEGO® minifigures during the month of July with several fun specials and sales. Older collectors can recapture a piece of the past, while younger fans can add unique minifigures to their collections.
Exclusive Golden Minifigure Key Chain
From July 1 to July 31, 2009, any shopper spending $75 or more at brick and mortar LEGO® stores, through the LEGO® Catalog, or at the online LEGO® Web site will receive a free exclusive Golden Minifigure Key Chain. LEGO® Club Minifigure Key Chain offer
From July 9 to July 10, 2009, LEGO® Club members who spend $35 will receive a free (nonGolden) Minifigure Key Chain. Different stores will be giving away different key chains.
Vintage Minifigure Collection Sale
From July 13 to July 15, 2009, shoppers can save 20% on the Vintage Minifigure Collection, Volume 1. This set is made up of reissues of classic LEGO® minifigs ranging from a 1978 astronaut to a 2002 mad scientist.
The Vintage Minifigure Collection, Volume 2, though not on sale, is still appealing, pulling together astronauts from 1978 and 1984, a postman from 1982, a pirate from 1996, and a ninja from 1999. And looking ahead, when released, the upcoming Vintage Minifigure Collection, Volume 3 will include such figures as a 1979 yellow astronaut and a 1984 Castle Black Falcon warrior.
Build Your Own Minifigures!
Visitors to the LEGO® stores can pick and choose from a variety of pieces (inventory will vary from store to store) to create a customized minifigure. For $9.99, customers can make 3 minifigures (each with a hat or hair and one accessory) plus a carrying pouch.
Celebrating the history of LEGO® minifigures
LEGO® minifigure fans can visit the Go Miniman Go Web site set up in 2008 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the first LEGO® minifigures. There they will find fun features like games, a blog, and an interactive timeline.
