LEGO KidsFest is coming to Chicago in October 2010. At this traveling tour of LEGO exhibits and interactive activities, children can play with LEGO bricks and toys, enter competitions, display their own creations, and shop for exclusive LEGO toys. Families can purchase tickets now for this weekend-long event running from Friday, October 29 to Sunday, October 31, 2010.
LEGO KidsFest activities
When visiting the Creation Nation section, guests to LEGO KidsFest can build a creation to add to a basketball court-sized map of the United States. As part of the LEGO Passport Program, kids can carry a special program book to each booth participating in the Passport Program and collect stamps for a chance to win prizes such as gift certificates from Dick's Sporting Goods and Big Y.
Guests can enjoy viewing LEGO creations built by adults at the AFOL Zone. Children can ride the Roaming Railroad and race LEGO cars around the Roaming Raceway. There will also be exhibits of life-sized LEGO models of characters such as Darth Vader, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter.
LEGO Club members can attend a special meeting and kids with birthdays can hold birthday parties at the event. Face painters and caricature artists will offer other on-site entertainment. All LEGO fans can shop for exclusive LEGO toys at an on-site LEGO Store.
Cool Creations competition for LEGO builders
LEGO builders of all ages can enter the Cool Creations competition by building a model no bigger than 2' x 2' x 2'. Entrants under 18 must have their parents' permission to enter. Prize winners for each age category will be voted on by the public. Space is limited so interested model-builders should register ASAP.
LEGO Education Landmark School Competition
Elementary teachers and home educators of students in grades Kindergarten through fourth grade can write and submit an essay to enter the LEGO Education Landmark School Competition and compete to take part in “LEGO Landmark,” an educational and interactive classroom competition. Teachers submit an essay about a local, regional, or state landmark they and their class would like to study, and the top 20 finalists will receive sets of LEGO bricks to use with their class to construct this landmark. Their constructions will then be put on display at LEGO KidsFest and voted on by the public to determine first, second, and third prize winners, each of which will receive a LEGO Landmark Certificate and a LEGO Education gift certificate in a different amount. Registration for the Chicago event closes on September 29, 2010.

This event was terrible. It was like a big scam. The lego "master builders"didn't know anything about legos and gave no hints,tips,advice or even say anything worthwhile. My kid got a Blue man group sticker for completing the passport. This thing should be investigated by the state attorney general...it is a huge fraud...
? Was this actually posted a month ago? The Chicago Lego Kdifest was just this past weekend (Halloween weekend) and it was amazing! The Master Builders we knowledgable as well as very entertaining. My kids had a blast and so did my husband and I. You must have this confused with some other event!

Attention People of Chicago....The Lego Kids Fest is a huge rip off. I attended in Boston. If you have bought tickets try to get a refund. If you are thinking of getting tickets, don't...you will thank me.
