Chicago mothers and fathers looking for fun kids' Easter gifts and toys can stop by the Children's Gift Shop in Northfield, IL, and choose from several nice displays of playthings both small and large, as well as a great selection of children's books about Easter and spring subjects.
Easter toys at Children's Gift Shop
This North Shore children's toy store is currently well stocked with sweet Easter dolls like Chirping Chicks that peep when their feet are touched, soft Hello Kitty dolls wearing bunny ears, small stuffed rabbits, and tiny wind-up lambs, bunnies, and chicks. Other playful small toys that would make great Easter basket stuffers include cute Easter jewelry (like little bunny earrings), pastel-colored Slinky toys, and clever egg-shaped puzzle balls from Ravensburger that allow kids to construct ovoid 3-D puzzles with pictures on the side of spring subjects like bunnies and lambs.
Children's Gift Shop is also selling larger Easter craft toys, such as a Shrinky Dinks set for making an Easter egg ornament tree and a cute Color and Cuddle stuffed bunny by ALEX that is printed with black-line pictures of objects like carrots that children can color and that can be washed so that children can color and decorate this soft toy again and again.
The store has also included in its Easter displays several small toys that would be fun for kids to play with this spring, such as sets of sculptable play foam, bottles of squeeze ‘n blow pop-up bubbles, giant bubble wands fully of Jelly Belly candies, no-spill big bubble buckets, and colorful sunglasses.
Easter books for children
The Children's Gift Shop has made it easy for parents to find spring-themed and Easter books to give to boys and girls who love to read. Titles currently being spotlighted in their lovely window display and around the store include some great Max & Ruby books by Rosemary Wells (such as Bunny Cakes, Max's Chocolate Chicken, and Max and Ruby Celebrate Easter), the charming The Night Before Easter by Natasha Wing, an Arthur Easter Activity Book by Marc Brown, Little White Rabbit by Kevin Henkes, Good Egg by Barney Saltzberg, The Berenstain Bears' Baby Easter Bunny, and a Curious George Easter book. To tuck into an Easter basket next to these fun children's picture books, parents can also pick up Beanie Baby versions of Max, Ruby, and Curious George.
