Chicago families searching for a way to make contact and discuss "green" issues with other eco-conscious families could learn about the Green Parents Network at the 2009 Chicago Green Festival. This social network allows members to share information and advice about Earth-friendly products and how to live a healthy life.
Why join the Green Parents Network?
People who have questions about how to live a "green" lifestyle or which products are best to use with children, or people who have views on such topics to share with others, can use the Green Parents Network as a gathering place to meet and exchange such information. Through discussion, dialogue, and debate, members educate each other about green living.
Resources at the Green Parents Network
Members of this growing Internet community can take advantage of resources such as a discussion forum, informational videos, and organized groups of members interested in sharing information about set topics such as which products can actually be called "natural," homeschooling, and trading/selling/giving away unwanted items. Members who run or represent green businesses can also post information about these organizations in a dedicated group.
Parents interested in the best toys, diapers, and other children's products can check out the various discussion threads and groups already started or begin their own. Groups about recycled craft ideas and Chicago-area field trips can provide families with eco-friendly activities to do.
It can be confusing to determine which products are natural and organic and to make decisions about how best to run an eco-friendly household. The participants in the Green Parents Network can offer support to one another and help each family figure out how to live the lifestyle that works best for it and the planet.
