Those Nickelodeon and Noggin television favorites, Hot Peas ‘N Butter have created a wonderful mixed menu of Afro-Caribbean/-Latin American/ pop songs with elemental touches of jazz and folk in their newest CD offering, Volume 5: Best of the Bowl Ingles y Espanol.
Once again, this joyful upbeat music showcases the kid- favored, award-winning talents of Daniel Lapidus (lead and background vocals) and Francisco Cotto (base and background vocals.)
The duo is joined on this excursion by the Puerto Rican musical legend, Yomo Toro, Jorge Vazquez (all percussion), Felix Sanabria (bata Drum), Rich Mercurio (drums), Hector Mercado (acoustic guitar) and Oz Noys (guitars), along with the kids’ chorus featuring the sprightly voices of Odalys and Danny Javier Cotto and Wanda and Priscilla Estrella.
The music itself will find you and your child swaying to the hypnotic drum beat rhythms from selections such as “Baila/Dance” and “Campo,” or singing along in Spanish as well as English with Hot Peas 'N Butter favorites such as “Somos/Familia,” utilizing the free downloadable PDF lyrics provided for this 11 track CD.
Cotto, who was born in Puerto Rico says, “This CD rings close to who we are as musicians and as people. These are our favorite songs.”
