Cover of If I Could Be Anything
March is Small Press Month, so throughout the month, I'll be highlighting books from small presses and independent publishers.
If you could be anything what would you be? In If I Could Be Anything, a little boy dreams of being different animals.
"Could I lift up my trunk like the elephants do?
Could I bounce here and there like a young kangaroo?"
Perhaps he'll slither and slide like a leathery snake, fly like a seagull, or hang upside down like a bat. The possibilities are endless, but in the end, he realizes that even though all of that would be fun, he would want to be with the ones he loves. So if he can be anything, tiny or tall, he decides he wants to be himself most of all!
This fun rhyming picture book will open up a great discussion with young readers about what type of animal they'd like to be and why. It's a perfect read-aloud and will remind young readers that there's nothing like being yourself.
