‘Wildlife Garden’ by Martyn Cox is a cute book designed for young children filled with lots of information and activities. The bright pictures show children working in their wildlife gardens and hold the attention of children of all ages. This is a great book for parents who want to encourage their children to live green.
Packed with activities like picking plants to creating a habitat that will attract and support bugs, bees, butterflies, birds, and even bats ‘Wildlife Garden’ shows children how whether they live in the city or country. This book will keep young ones busy for hours preparing the environment, watching for new wildlife, and tending to the habitat.
I only rated ‘Wildlife Garden’ a four because while the pictures are bright and cheerful they are all children working on projects alone. I felt this was a bit misleading as several of the activities do require parental assistance or supervision. It is still a fun book though and would recommend for classroom project ideas, scout troop projects, or great family fun activities.
