Memorial Day by Mir Tamim Ansary is a children’s book in the Holiday Histories series. Memorial Day is recommended for ages 4-8 and does a wonderful job of explaining how Memorial Day started, the history of the holiday, and most importantly who we should remember on Memorial Day.

The Holiday Histories book Memorial Day is one of the best books I’ve found for young children and the wording is perfect for young readers. My seven year old grandson read the entire book with very little help and his four year old sister enjoyed the pictures. Both children seemed to have a full understanding of Memorial Day after reading this great children’s book.
