Lansing will be holding its Free Earth Day Celebration on April 22, 2010 at the Lansing City Hall. Since the first Earth Day in 1970 this has been a day to bring awareness and appreciation for the environment.
This year you can spend Earth Day at City Hall where you will find refreshments, educational exhibits, crafts, games, music, and tours of the BWL Solar Array and the City of Lansing Rain Gardens.
Date: April 22, 2010
Time: 10am - 2pm
Location: Lansing City Hall,
124 W. Michigan Ave.
To help prepare the children in the family for this Earth Day event you may want to try sharing a couple Earth Day children’s books.
Biscuit’s Earth Day Celebration by Alyssa Satin Capucilli is a great book to get children involved in the environment at an early age. Readers join Biscuit as he plants seeds, cleans up, and learns to protect the Earth. This is a great book to celebrate Earth Day for preschoolers but old children enjoy reading it too. You can get Biscuit’s Earth Day Celebration at Barnes & Noble at the Lansing Mall.
You may rather check out some of the following Earth Day children’s books from one of the Capital Area District Libraries. The locations the book can be found is listed under each book title. If you are not sure of the address or hours of the different branches of the library you can refer to the list on the right panel of this page for the location web site.
