Earth Day by Trudi Strain Trueit

"Imagine a city where the air is so dirty it is hard to breathe. Imagine a lake so full of oil that no fish or wildlife can life there." Earth Day by Trudi Strain Trueit is written for ages four to eight and is an easy read for 1st and 2nd grade levels. The photographs used in the book clearly show the problems and concerns with our environment and the need for awareness.

Earth Day is one of a series Rookie Read-About Holidays all children’s books by Trudi Strain Trueit explaining the origination, how it is celebrated and includes games, crafts, traditions all centered on the specific holiday. Other books besides Earth Day in the children’s collection are: Valentine's Day, Kwanzaa, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Independence Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Diwali, and Christmas.

To help children understand Earth Day this book is a great children’s book for young readers, the family to enjoy together or for the classroom setting.

Sounds like a delightful book. I love how you focus on the importance of reading to explore the view of the world through a child's eyes.
