A kid's guide to container gardening by Stephanie Bearce

Spring is here is Lansing even though it may be hard to believe with recent below freezing temperatures. A great way to introduce children to spring and gardening is with container gardening. ‘A Kid’s Guide to Container Gardening’ by Stephanie Bearce is an excellent book to get the kids started.

Each page of ‘A Kid’s Guide to Container Gardening’ has a sharp photograph many picturing children working with plants and gardening. The text is fun and active with vocabulary words bolded and explained in a glossary at the end of the book.

Children learn important gardening concepts such as hardiness zones, equipment they will need, what kinds of plants do well with container gardening, and detailed step-by-step instructions on how to start their own container garden. Kids will also find a variety of suggestions for containers to use for their container garden but also imaginations are sparked to come up with ideas of their own.

For children who don’t have yards or any space where they can start their own garden experience ‘A Kid’s Guide to Container Gardening’ shows children how they can have a taste of fresh vegetables they have grown themselves or to enjoy the beauty of fresh flowers without spending Mom or Dad’s money at the store. Adults if you are not familiar with container gardening you can get started yourself with this wonderful book.

Wonderful activity books for children. they like to play in the dirt and see things grow. I guess I am a kid since I like those things too. Good post! Thank you.
