Today is National Peach Pie Day according to Foodimentary!
There is a wonderful taste and quality to a great homemade peach pie with fresh peaches sliced and pitted. But there are also great recipes for busy Moms and Dads to make lasting memories with canned peaches.
Here's a quick and easy recipe from Cooks.com
2 cups or 1 (2 1/2 pound can) of canned lite peaches
1 cup sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 stick butter (1 tablespoon)
Store-bought pie crust kit and your own pie pan.
Drain the juice from the peaches into an average saucepan. Mix the sugar, cornstarch (thickening agent) and nutmeg. Add this dry mixture to the peach juice. Add the butter and cook the mixture over low heat until the mixture thickens. Line a pie tin with the crust (follow directions on store-bought pie crust packaging). First add the peaches followed by the thickened juice. Top with the second pie crust. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes or until brown. Be sure to let it rest and cool before serving.

Yum! We have all of these ingredients at home. Sounds perfect with some vanilla ice cream.
